My other game development focus is on 3D environmental design, with tasks centered around conceptual sketching and planning, creating moodboards, development from grayboxing and refining existing areas with fine detail. I use my experience and knowledge of color and light theory to create emotionally impactful and uniquely distinct environments.
Overpaint/Concepts
The following are overpainted screenshots I made to visually communicate idea concepts and to suggest area enhancements with prop placements, details, and influence on the overall mood together with team member.
Environmental enhancements
The following is a moodboard I made to enhance an existing environment inside a game. I first drew visual inspiration from collecting and grouping references (upper left), which I then used to edit screenshots taken from the game (right side), which finally influenced my final adjustment of the in-game weather (bottom left). I made use of environmental parameters such as ambient light, cloud colors and appearance, fog density and color, color correction, bloom, and other properties.

The following is the same area where I adjusted the environmental parameters to produce a believable day-and-night time cycle. Of note is that this game is also technically constrained for low-spec devices.
Frosty and clear early winter day
Hot and humid summer day
The following is an example of another scene with different requirements of mood and purpose.
